We take photos of your child for identification and documentation purposes. This involves the use of closed-circuit television in our office for surveillance and security purposes.
We encourage parents to stay with their child during the examination. Hygiene appointments provide a wonderful opportunity for parents to discuss their concerns with the hygienist and doctor.
We do ask that you allow your child to focus on our staff through the dental experience. We are all highly experienced in helping children overcome anxiety and teaching positive oral health habits. If further dental care is needed, the doctor and hygienists will discuss treatment options with you. We understand that many parents are very anxious about dental care and this is often passed on to children. Because of parental anxiety, we prefer children to receive dental care without the parent present.
That being said, it is very important to us that you are comfortable with the care we will provide for your child. If you prefer to accompany your child for dental treatment we most certainly will allow you to do so. It is very important that you let us know that you would like to be present for their treatment prior to when the appointment is scheduled. We do have some helpful guidelines for you to follow, while in the treatment room, that we will need to discuss in advance. It is our goal that your child will have a happy visit to establish trust and confidence that will last a lifetime.
*A parent/legal guardian (with documentation) must be present in the office to consent to initial treatment and any subsequent changes. A parent/legal guardian may designate an additional custodian to bring their child to/from appointments with proper documentation.*
Parents are recommended to cancel/reschedule an appointment a minimum of 24 hours prior to its scheduled time. After three (3) missed/broken appointments we will not schedule any further appointments.
